The Atlanta Braves have signed infielder José Devers to a minor league contract, aiming to bolster their infield depth after a challenging 2024 season.
Devers, who spent seven seasons with the Miami Marlins, was designated for assignment last September and subsequently entered free agency. Despite a promising start as a top prospect, his major league appearances have been limited, and he has struggled with injuries.
His new contract with Atlanta may include an invitation to Spring Training, but his path to a roster spot remains uncertain.
