Drew Thorpe's excellent pitching streak continued with a scoreless six-inning performance against the Royals, but the White Sox lost yet again. Seth Lugo pitched a shutout for Kansas City in their seventh consecutive win. Justin Anderson and John Brebbia struggled for the Sox, dropping their record to 27-74.

Nick Senzel struggled in his debut series after signing with the Sox as a free agent. He sees the opportunity to revive his season with the team. Martin Maldonado was released, and play-by-play voice John Schriffen returns to the booth for the Sox' next game.
