The Kansas City Royals have made a significant move by acquiring second baseman Jonathan India from the Cincinnati Reds, enhancing their lineup with a reliable leadoff hitter to complement star shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.
In the trade, the Royals also received outfielder Joey Wiemer while sending right-hander Brady Singer to Cincinnati. India, a former NL Rookie of the Year, had a solid season in 2024, showcasing his ability to get on base and contribute offensively.
Brady Singer, a key part of the Royals' rotation, has shown promise since his debut and is set for arbitration in 2025. Wiemer, who has spent time in the minors, adds depth to the Reds' outfield.
