Cincinnati Reds' Matt McLain is the latest player to be placed on the 10-day injured list due to a slight left hamstring strain. The condition forced McLain out of the lineup starting last Friday and he was last seen on the field during the game against the Brewers on Thursday. As he heads to the IL, the Reds have also optioned pitcher Carson Spiers to Triple-A and recalled infielder Noelvi Marte and outfielder Will Benson. At the same time, the team is hoping for the return of catcher Tyler Stephenson and outfielder Austin Hays, with Stephenson recently cleared for baseball activities and Hays potentially making his debut soon.
