German Marquez is back on the injured list with elbow inflammation after his return from Tommy John surgery. He broke the Rockies' strikeout record in 2024 but felt discomfort after his start in New York.

Marquez will take some time off before the Rockies hope to have him back in a couple of weeks. Right-hander Nick Mears was recalled from Triple-A, and Ty Blach is likely to replace Marquez in the next game against the Red Sox.
