Thairo Estrada has agreed to a one-year contract with the Colorado Rockies, which includes a mutual option for the 2026 season. The 28-year-old infielder, who previously played for the San Francisco Giants, had a challenging last season, recording a batting average of .217 along with nine home runs and 47 RBIs. After being assigned to Triple-A Sacramento in August, he opted for free agency in October following three years in Major League Baseball.
Throughout his career spanning six seasons, Estrada has played a variety of positions, including second base, shortstop, third base, and all outfield spots. He holds a .251 career batting average, and boasts 48 home runs, 195 RBIs, and 52 stolen bases across 469 games. His prior teams include the New York Yankees and the San Francisco Giants. Recently, the Rockies also secured a one-year deal with Kyle Farmer, following their decision to release former first-round pick Brendan Rodgers into free agency.
