The Colorado Rockies have officially added outfielder Zac Veen to their 40-man roster, protecting him from the upcoming Rule 5 Draft. This move comes as Veen, ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the Rockies' system and No. 83 in MLB, approaches his 23rd birthday.
Veen, who was the top high school player in the 2020 MLB Draft, was selected 9th overall by the Rockies. Despite a promising start in 2021, his performance dipped in 2023 due to injuries. Nevertheless, the Rockies' outfield prospects remain strong with players like Brenton Doyle and Nolan Jones leading the way.
