The Houston Astros have made roster moves ahead of their series against the Cleveland Guardians, optioning infielder Shay Whitcomb to Triple-A Sugar Land and recalling Zach Dezenzo. Whitcomb, who had a challenging stint with a .220 batting average and a record four errors in one game, is replaced by Dezenzo, who also struggled earlier this season with a .212 average.
This call-up is particularly special for Dezenzo, a Canton native and Ohio State alum, as he may get the chance to play against his hometown team in the final regular-season series.
