Yusei Kikuchi has finalized a three-year, $63 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels, marking a significant addition to their roster. The left-hander's deal, contingent on a successful physical, will see him earn $21 million annually, bringing his total MLB earnings to $142 million over nine seasons.
Previously an All-Star with Seattle, Kikuchi had a mixed performance in 2023, posting a 4.05 ERA with a 9-10 record across 32 starts for Toronto and Houston. His recent stint with the Astros was notably impressive, with a 2.70 ERA in 10 starts.
The Angels, who have struggled in recent seasons, are making aggressive moves this offseason, hoping to improve their fortunes after a franchise-worst record last year.
