Paul Skenes of the Pittsburgh Pirates has been named a finalist for the National League Rookie of the Year award, marking a significant achievement for the franchise. Alongside him are Jackson Merrill from the San Diego Padres and Jackson Chourio of the Milwaukee Brewers. The winner will be revealed on November 18.

Skenes had an impressive rookie season, posting an 11-3 record with a 1.96 ERA and setting a Pirates rookie record with 170 strikeouts. His performance has drawn comparisons to past greats and he has already received accolades from Baseball America and Baseball Digest.
