The Arizona Diamondbacks have appointed Brian Kaplan as their new pitching coach, following a disappointing season where they ranked 27th in ERA.
Kaplan previously served as an assistant pitching coach and director of pitching for the Philadelphia Phillies, contributing to their strong rotation last season.
He takes over from Brent Strom, who was let go after the team's struggles, despite their offensive prowess.
Kaplan is also known for co-founding Cressey Sports Performance, a facility utilized by several MLB stars.
