The New York Yankees have made a significant trade, acquiring All-Star closer Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for left-hander Nestor Cortes and infield prospect Caleb Durbin, along with over $1 million.

Williams, a 30-year-old right-hander, has shown impressive performance with a 1.25 ERA and 14 saves in 15 opportunities this season. He is eligible for free agency after 2025.

Cortes, who has faced injury challenges, was an All-Star in 2022 and has a career ERA of 3.80. Meanwhile, Durbin has demonstrated strong potential in the minors, showcasing versatility and offensive skills.
