New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole was placed on the 60-day injured list with right elbow inflammation ahead of the opener at Houston. The team announced he won't throw for three to four weeks due to nerve irritation and edema in his throwing elbow.

DJ LeMahieu and Oswald Peraza were also placed on the injured list. Gleyber Torres moved to leadoff spot facing left-hander Framber Valdez. Jon Berti was added to the roster after being acquired from Miami.
