This action led to an ejection and a brief scuffle on the field. Prior to this, Lopez had hit Bryan Reynolds with a pitch, raising tensions. Nationals manager Dave Martinez also faced disciplinary action, receiving a fine and a one-game suspension. Lopez has lodged an appeal against his suspension, which won't take effect until the appeal is resolved.
