The Texas Rangers have signed right-hander Jacob Webb to a one-year contract as part of their offseason strategy to bolster their bullpen. Webb, 31, previously played for the Baltimore Orioles, where he demonstrated impressive strikeout ability, particularly against left-handed batters.

Last season, lefties struggled against his changeup, hitting just .108 when facing it. Despite dealing with elbow inflammation, Webb returned to contribute in the playoffs. He is the first free agent acquisition for the Rangers' bullpen, with more signings anticipated as they look to improve their performance against left-handed hitters.
