Robertson, 26, had a limited presence in the big leagues this season, while Batista, 22, has never pitched at the major league level. In the previous season, Batista recorded a 6-6 record with a 5.01 ERA over 26 games for Houston’s A+ affiliate in Asheville, striking out 103 batters in 115 innings. Robertson, who previously played for the St. Louis Cardinals and appeared in one game for the Blue Jays this year, had a 4.38 ERA across 12 1/3 innings last season.
