The Washington Nationals have decided to non-tender relief pitchers Kyle Finnegan and Tanner Rainey, allowing them to enter free agency ahead of the MLB's non-tender deadline.
Finnegan, a 33-year-old All-Star in 2024, had a solid season but struggled towards the end, finishing with a 3.68 ERA. Rainey, 31, has faced challenges throughout his career, including Tommy John surgery, and ended 2024 with a 4.76 ERA. Both pitchers are expected to find new opportunities in 2025.
