Draymond Green, the veteran forward for the Golden State Warriors, has been named one of the finalists for the 2025 NBA Defensive Player of the Year award. He has been a defensive stalwart for the team, averaging two steals and 1.4 blocks per game this season. Under his leadership, the Warriors secured a 7th place finish in defensive rating with a 111 score. After acquiring Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline, their defensive performance soared to a league-best 109 since February 8.

Green previously won the Defensive Player of the Year award during the 2016-17 season and has been a finalist multiple times since, finishing third in 2020-21 and fourth last season.
