Nick Richards, the Charlotte Hornets' starting center, is out indefinitely due to a rib cartilage fracture sustained during a game against Boston. The injury was confirmed by an MRI, and he will be reevaluated bi-weekly as he aims for a return.
This injury leaves the Hornets with limited options at center, as Mark Williams is also sidelined. Grant Williams is expected to take on a larger role, alongside Moussa Diabate and Taj Gibson.
Richards had been performing well this season, averaging a double-double, which poses a challenge for Charlotte's defense as they struggle to contain opponents without his presence in the paint.
