This move comes following the Lakers' recent trade of Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for superstar Luka Doncic, addressing important roster needs, particularly at the shooting guard position. However, to make room for Goodwin, the team waived Cam Reddish, who has struggled to make an impact during his time with the Lakers.
