The confrontation escalated as both players exchanged shoves near the scorer's table, coinciding with a dunk by Spurs' Jeremy Sochan.

Referees stepped in to restore order, resulting in technical fouls and expulsions for Williams, Champagnie, and Thunder guard Lou Dort.
