Rookie Devin Carter of Sacramento Kings undergoes shoulder surgery. Carter, 22, will be re-evaluated in six months. He was chosen 13th overall in the 2024 NBA draft after a successful college career.

The Kings made a significant trade, acquiring DeMar DeRozan in exchange for Harrison Barnes and picks. Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs were involved in the three-team sign-and-trade deal.
