The Los Angeles Lakers are considering trading their first-round picks if it leads to a sustainable level of excellence, according to GM Rob Pelinka. He stated they would trade both picks for a significant upgrade or use one for a minor enhancement.
This offseason has been quiet for the Lakers following a disappointing playoff exit. They added guards Dalton Knecht and Bronny James in the draft, and later added center Christian Koloko.
Pelinka expressed confidence in the current roster but noted the need for about 30 games to assess their performance adequately. He indicated that major trades may not happen before the season begins.
