The Toronto Raptors are currently facing increasing interest from other teams in their starting center, Jakob Poeltl, but appear to be resistant to trade him. NBA insider Marc Stein reports that while there is mounting interest in Poeltl, the Raptors seem committed to keeping him, especially given his impressive performance this season, averaging career-highs in points and rebounds.
Despite their struggles this season, holding the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference, Raptors president Masai Ujiri may look at the upcoming trade deadline as an opportunity to offload veterans such as Kelly Olynyk and Bruce Brown, who are both more likely to be traded. In addition, Chris Boucher is also reportedly on the trading block. The Raptors' strategy seems aimed at gathering future assets for a more competitive roster next season.
