The Buffalo Sabres signed forward Beck Malenstyn to a two-year, $2.7 million contract, adding a physical presence to the team's retooled fourth line under new coach Lindy Ruff. Malenstyn, acquired from the Washington Capitals, had six goals and 21 points in his first full NHL season.
