Buffalo Sabres coach Lindy Ruff announced that defenceman Rasmus Dahlin will not play against the Winnipeg Jets due to back spasms. While Ruff hopes the injury is short-term, he did not provide a specific timeline for Dahlin's return.
Dahlin had previously missed much of the pre-season due to a related injury. In his absence, Dennis Gilbert will take his place in the lineup, and Ryan Johnson has been recalled from AHL Rochester.
Despite the setback, Dahlin has been a key player for the Sabres, ranking third on the team with 19 points. He was also recently named to Sweden's roster for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off tournament.
