Utica Comets faced off against the Rochester Americans in search of their first win of the season after a scoreless loss to Syracuse. Despite a spirited effort from the home crowd, Utica fell short, losing 4-1.

Rochester's Nikita Novikov and Kale Clague scored in the first period, establishing a 2-0 lead. Max Willman finally put Utica on the board, but Isak Rosen's goal extended Rochester's lead. An empty-netter from Graham Slaggert sealed the game for the Americans.
