Alex Formenton, a former Ottawa Senators forward, has initiated a $20.5 million lawsuit against his former agent Wade Arnott and Newport Sports Management, alleging negligence and breach of contract. The lawsuit claims that Formenton lost income for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 NHL seasons due to the alleged misconduct of his representatives.
Formenton, along with four other former junior players, faces sexual assault charges related to an incident in 2018. The lawsuit details how Arnott failed to provide critical advice regarding contract negotiations with the Senators, which ultimately left Formenton ineligible to play in the NHL for the 2022-23 season.
