Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov has been placed in concussion protocol and is out indefinitely following a collision with teammate Sean Walker during overtime against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Head coach Rod Brind'Amour noted the varying recovery times for concussions, while the team is already missing Frederik Andersen due to knee surgery. Spencer Martin will step in as the primary goaltender in Kochetkov's absence.
