The Minnesota Wild have made a significant trade, acquiring defenseman David Jiricek from the Columbus Blue Jackets. In exchange, the Wild will send their 2025 first-round pick, which is top-five protected, along with minor league defenseman Daemon Hunt and several draft picks.

Jiricek, a promising 21-year-old, has played in 53 NHL games, contributing one goal and ten assists. He was a standout at the 2023 world junior tournament, where he earned recognition as the best defenseman.
