Chris Wideman, a former defenceman for the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators, has announced his retirement after six NHL seasons.
The 34-year-old did not participate in the 2023-24 season due to a back injury, despite multiple rehabilitation efforts. Over his career, he accumulated 20 goals and 58 assists in 291 games.
Wideman began his NHL journey with the Senators and also played for teams like the Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Anaheim Ducks.
