Emil Heineman of the Montreal Canadiens faces a recovery period of three to four weeks following an upper-body injury sustained during a pedestrian accident in Utah. The Canadiens confirmed the incident, which occurred on Monday, just as the team embarks on a two-game road trip starting with a match against the Utah Hockey Club in Salt Lake City.
Heineman, 23, has been contributing to the team with 17 points from 10 goals and seven assists over 41 games this season. His previous stint with the Canadiens did not yield any points in four games. The Swedish forward was originally selected by the Florida Panthers in the second round of the 2020 NHL Draft before being traded to the Calgary Flames and later to the Canadiens.
