The Laval Rocket kicked off their AHL season with a convincing 5-2 victory against the Providence Bruins on Friday. Defenceman Logan Mailloux shone brightly, netting two goals and providing two assists. Other contributors included Filip Mesar, Adam Engstrom, and William Trudeau, while goalie Jakub Dobes made 12 saves.

Pascal Vincent made his coaching debut for Laval after transitioning from his role with the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Rocket will continue their road trip against the Springfield Thunderbirds before returning home for their opener against the Syracuse Crunch.
