The Montreal Canadiens have cut ties with defenseman Nicolas Beaudin, placing him on unconditional waivers with the intent to terminate his contract. Beaudin, a former first-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks, failed to crack the Canadiens' NHL roster and spent the entire season in the AHL with the Laval Rocket. He has now signed with HC Sparta Praha in Europe, hoping to earn another chance in the NHL if he performs well.
