The roster consists of 35 forwards, 17 defencemen, and seven goalies, with a mix of NHL and AHL contracts, alongside tryouts. Players will first practice on Thursday, followed by several sessions leading up to six preseason games, including one against the Philadelphia Flyers.

After a brief retreat to Mont-Tremblant, the Canadiens will conclude their preseason against the Ottawa Senators before starting their regular season against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Bell Centre.
