The Colorado Avalanche have made a strategic move by acquiring center Juuso Parssinen from the Nashville Predators, enhancing their roster ahead of the upcoming games. The trade, finalized on Saturday, also includes a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, which the Avalanche received in exchange for forward Ondrej Pavel and a third-round pick in 2027.
Juuso Parssinen, who is just 23 years old, has shown potential during his time with the Predators, scoring two goals and providing three assists in 15 games this season. In total, he has accumulated 16 goals and 26 assists across 104 career games over the span of 2 1/2 seasons with Nashville, indicating a promising trajectory in his young career.
On the other hand, Ondrej Pavel, who was signed by Colorado as a free agent in March 2023 after spending three seasons at Minnesota State University-Mankato, has yet to make a significant impact in the NHL. The 24-year-old forward has recorded no points in his two career games with the Avalanche, making this trade a calculated risk for Colorado as they look to bolster their offensive lineup.
