The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded for center Philip Tomasino from the Nashville Predators, sending a fourth-round pick in the 2027 draft. This acquisition aims to bolster a struggling team currently facing its worst start in nearly 20 years.
At just 23 years old, Tomasino has had a slow start this season with only one point in 11 games. However, his past performance includes 23 goals and 48 assists over 159 games since entering the NHL in 2021.
With the Penguins sitting at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division and a league-worst goal differential, general manager Kyle Dubas is embracing a youth movement, having also traded veteran Lars Eller to Washington.
