The New Jersey Devils have placed forward Justin Dowling on waivers as they prepare for Curtis Lazar's return against the St. Louis Blues.

Dowling, 34, has had a limited impact this season with two goals and one assist in 21 games. He was recalled in late October due to Lazar's injury and has also played for the Utica Comets, where he scored two goals in six games. Teams in need of forward depth may consider claiming him, but if not, he will head back to Utica.
