New York Islanders defenseman Mike Reilly is set to undergo a procedure for a heart condition discovered during routine tests following a concussion. General manager Lou Lamoriello noted that the condition was detected through echocardiograms during Reilly's post-concussion evaluation.
Reilly, who was injured in a game against the Buffalo Sabres, has been cleared from the concussion but will be out indefinitely as he recovers. Lamoriello anticipates that Reilly will return to the ice and maintain a full quality of life after recovery.
