Reilly Smith scored a short-handed goal to tie the game, while Vincent Trocheck netted the game-winner. Chris Kreider sealed the victory with an empty-net goal. Roope Hintz scored for the Stars, who ended their six-game homestand at 3-3-0.

Artemi Panarin returned to assist on Trocheck's goal, while the Rangers showcased a strong penalty kill.
