Leading 1-0, the Canadiens exploded for three quick goals in the third period, with contributions from David Savard, Emil Heineman, and Josh Anderson. Luke Tuch and Alex Barré-Boulet also added to the scoreline.
Patrik Laine made his debut for Montreal after joining from Columbus and had five shots without scoring. Despite the loss, the Flyers managed to test the Canadiens’ goaltending.
