Michael McLeod, a former forward for the New Jersey Devils, has been released from his contract with Barys Astana in the KHL following serious legal issues.

The 26-year-old was charged with sexual assault alongside several former NHL players, leading the Devils to part ways with him after the 2023-24 season.
