The Colorado Avalanche have traded goaltender Alexandar Georgiev to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Mackenzie Blackwood, marking a significant roster change. Along with Blackwood, the Avalanche also received forward Givani Smith and a fifth-round pick in 2027.

Georgiev, who struggled early this season, had previously been a standout for Colorado, earning an All-Star selection last year. Meanwhile, Blackwood is also looking to regain form after a rocky start to his season.
