The Buffalo Sabres acquired forward Ryan McLeod from the Edmonton Oilers, trading a top prospect for an established NHL player. McLeod had a successful playoff run with Edmonton before being traded to Buffalo. The Sabres also re-signed defenseman Henri Jokiharju.
On the other hand, the Seattle Kraken signed Eeli Tolvanen to a two-year contract and have center Matty Beniers as their only remaining restricted free agent. Tolvanen has been a key player for the Kraken, setting career highs last season in points and assists.
Additionally, Berkly Catton and Terik Parascak signed entry-level contracts with Washington after being selected in the first round of the draft.
