The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed forward David Kampf on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury, adding to their injury woes as they prepare for a game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Kampf's injury is retroactive to Saturday's game against the Edmonton Oilers, where he played over 14 minutes. The team is also missing key players, including captain Auston Matthews and veterans Max Pacioretty and Calle Jarnkrok.
In response, the Maple Leafs have recalled Fraser Minten from the AHL's Toronto Marlies, who has shown promise in his early professional career.
