Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies has been placed on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury sustained during a game against the Vegas Golden Knights. Coach Craig Berube noted that Knies is showing signs of improvement, but he will miss the upcoming match against the Utah Hockey Club.
In response to Knies' injury, the Maple Leafs have recalled forward Alex Nylander from the AHL's Toronto Marlies. Nylander has performed well this season and brings additional depth to the roster.
Additionally, defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson missed practice with an illness, while forward Max Domi may be on track to return from IR for the next game.
