The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially extended the contract of defenceman Philippe Myers for two more years, as announced on Friday. This contract has an average annual value of $850,000, reflecting the team's commitment to the 27-year-old player from Moncton, New Brunswick.
This season, Myers has contributed two assists in 11 games while averaging over 17 minutes of ice time per game. Over the course of his NHL career, he has recorded eight goals and 30 assists in 169 games played with teams including Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, and Toronto.
Standing at six-foot-five and weighing 219 pounds, Myers was initially signed by the Maple Leafs as a free agent on July 2. His international experience includes helping Canada secure a silver medal at the 2017 World Junior Hockey Championship and another silver at the 2019 World Hockey Championship.
