Arizona Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen recently met with pitcher Jordan Montgomery following owner Ken Kendrick's critical remarks about Montgomery's performance this past season.
Montgomery, who signed a $25 million contract with a player option for 2025, struggled with a 6.23 ERA over 21 starts, leading to a demotion to the bullpen. Despite this, he exercised his option to remain with the team.
Kendrick admitted that signing Montgomery was a significant mistake, acknowledging the team's struggles that kept them from the playoffs.
