The Atlanta Braves have bolstered their pitching roster by signing right-handed pitcher Jordan Weems to a minor league contract. He is set to participate in major league camp as a non-roster invitee for spring training, aiming for a return to the big leagues.
Weems, who previously played for the Washington Nationals, recorded a 5.03 ERA over 136 innings in his last three seasons. His fastball averages 96.4 mph, complemented by a slider, with occasional use of a splitter and curveball.
The Braves are actively enhancing their pitching depth, having also selected Anderson Pilar in the Rule 5 Draft and signing multiple other pitchers to minor league deals.
