The Boston Red Sox have acquired All-Star left-hander Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for four prospects. Crochet, who had a challenging season with a 6-12 record and a 3.58 ERA, was selected for the AL All-Star team in his first year as a starter.
Having undergone Tommy John surgery in 2022, he made his return to the majors in May 2023. His impressive pitching includes a sinker averaging 97.9 mph. The trade reshapes Boston's rotation, which previously included Tanner Houck and others.
